Ocean Inspired Prints & Motifs, Two-Color/Tone Fabrics, Earthy Hues, & Lingerie As Swimwear, Are Among Popular Features Of Swimwear In 2027

Following Miami Swim Week 2026 that took place in Miami Beach, FL, USA, on May 28-31, 2026, as well as some other global swimwear fashion shows elsewhere, where top global swimwear fashion brands displayed what they have got for 2027, some Ready-To-Wear (RTW) bikinis and swimsuits collections for Spring/Summer 2027 (SS27), are now available.

As in previous years, we have made a critical analysis of bikinis and swimsuits presented in the collections. Preliminary findings of the analysis show that ocean inspired prints and motifs, two-color/tone fabrics, earthy hues, and lingerie as swimwear, are among dominant features of swimwear in 2027.

We will now elaborate the preliminary findings and illustrate with some examples of bikinis and swimsuits from the available RTW SS27 collections as follows.

1) Ocean Inspired Prints And Motifs

Ocean inspired prints and motifs are powerful fashion attributes in bikinis and swimsuits in 2027. The prints and motifs entail pictorial images and symbols about marine life, and seashells; as well as coral patterns, among others.

2) Two-Color/Tone Fabrics

Bikini bottoms, bikini tops, and swimsuits in fabrics with two contrasting colors or tones are popular in 2027. The playful and lively designs are probably aimed at enhancing simple or minimalist swimwear pieces by making them standout at pools and beaches.

3) Earthy Hues

Earthy hues alias earthy color palette that entail muted natural colors inspired by the natural landscape, are popular in bikinis and swimsuits in 2027. The colors include: terracotta, shades of brown, beige, olive, shades of crimson, orange, forest green, cream, and charcoal, among others. Earthy hues are said to promote feelings of tranquillity, security, and nostalgia. The colors are also symbolically associated with comfort, stability, grounding, and connection with the natural environment.

4) Lingerie As Swimwear

2027 witnesses what appears to be the beginning of emergence of the lingerie as swimwear, hence functional transition of the seductive outfit from the indoor to the pool, beach, and probably other public activity areas like eateries, shops, and streets, as well. This dual functional purpose of the lingerie in 2027 portray continuation of adoption of fashion design concepts that emphasize versatility, that characterized generation of 2026 swimwear.
